Despite wearing a cast and sling, Shroud will be playing in the latest Twitch Rivals Apex Legends Challenge.

Despite wearing a cast and sling, former Counter-Strike: Global Offensive pro and popular streamer Michael "Shroud" Grzesiek will be playing in the latest Twitch Rivals Apex Legends Challenge.

Shroud recently announced a second surgery for a broken elbow he sustained in a scooter accident in March. This surgery involves inserting a plate into his elbow.

The popular streamer confirmed his participation last night during his first livestream since his March 29 surgery.

"I'll be playing Apex Rivals tomorrow. I'm expecting it to be a disaster due to head to head matches with all the cheating going on," Shroud said on Twitter.

This announcement comes as a shock to Shroud's fans since he has previously stated that he is taking a break from the gaming component of his streams. He explained that he would be sticking to webcam only until he healed from the accident, which seemed like the logical decision after his roommate explained the extent of his injuries.

Roommate and fellow CS:GO player Justin "Just9n" Ortiz detailed that Shroud had torn a ligament in his elbow and lost a shard of the bone, a severe injury that would seem to require some time spent away from competition. But not for Shroud.

Despite this horrific freak accident, Shroud will be entering the tournament.

Shroud will play in the North America competitions with a squad he has not yet announced. Twitch Rivals will have the squads face off in a four-round Swiss bracket. The teams will play two public matches per set, with the goal of scoring more points than their opposition.

Tune in to Shroud's channel to check out his valiant efforts.
