Hello everyone, I’m not good as writing so I’ll go straight. This is my experience only you can choose to follow or not.

- For Dota 2: You should know the differences between game modes. For example, you can’t use Turbo strategy for Ranked Matches. Turbo is a fast mode where everything is speed up double, if you want to improve your skills to get mmr, you can try All Pick (Normal).

+ Other elements are basically the same.

+ There are reasons that they divided into 5 pos (based on the amount of resources priority): pos1 usually is hard carry (safe lane), pos2 (mid), pos3 (offlane), pos4 (support), pos5 (hard sup). Position can be exchange between lanes.

*Pos1: Everything you have to do is focus on farming, get the highest networth, purchase items and carry the game. Everything good should be taken by you (kills, creeps, neutral items, space...).

Early game (Laning stage): Try to last hit every creeps, you can fight, but you have to last hit, don’t miss. Hard support should be with you but in case he doesn’t and the lane pressure is too heavy, you can leave and go jungling (remember to back to def and farm the creeps in the tower area, but if it’s too dangerous like there are 2-3 heroes pushing the lane, just farm jungle until someone backs you up). Pos1 needs items to combat, don’t join when you have like 1-2 items, that’s ******* (If it’s 4v1 or 4v2 you can join, base on the situation but your main job is to farm). Avoid as much combat as possible, your team’s job is to make space for you to farm.

Mid game: This is when you start to stick with your team to fight (When you have decent amount of items already). You need to be in a safe position, don’t open the combat or such, pos1 only join when you sure kill a hero or you have enough confident to do something big. Try to kill as much as possible and die least. If you think you can’t win the combat, don’t join (4v5, important ultis on CD, low hp, no mana...), call your team to retreat and back to farm. Don’t chase your enemies too deep (into towers or near outpost, deep into enemy’s jungle...) where they can easily TP back up and kill you all. When you get some kills, retreat.

Late game: This is when team fights often happen, which each can decide the result of the game, so be careful. Don’t fight when you are lack of visions, call your supports to bring smoke/dust/wards and setup for a gank. When you get important kills (their carry, mid), rush towers if the creeps are high (near enemy tower), force buyback if they have (if they don’t just push the throne LOL), if they buyback don’t fight, back to regen and head to big objective such as roshan. Remember when you win a fight, don’t keep staying in enemy highground if they are near to revive or they buyback, or when you have already pushed that lane. Get back to regen, wait your skills finish CD, then fight.

*Pos2 (usually mid): I like to get a sentry and deward enemy’s mid observer, it gives a decent amount of gold and exp, also give you the beneficial of vision at middle which is very important. When I go mid I like to roam when I take a rune (spawns every 4 mins) such as haste, invisibility, DD. You have the highest level (solo lane) so your ulti will be ready very soon, roam to get the advantages for your team.

Early game: The important thing is to trade last hits/denies and stay in the lane. You can call your supports to roam/help you if the lane is too hard or you want a kill. Stack neutral creeps if your lane was pushed too high (into enemy tower) and farm jungle. Every kill at mid lane affect the result of the game (especially in Turbo mode). When your enemy gets a kill of you, he will get advantages (gold, exp, items). If he kills you 3 times, basically you lost the lane and the game. When you die/kill, stop fighting and focus on farming to take back the space between two heroes/start to press the lane by trying to harass, go to enemy highground, push tower and try to kill more and more (but be aware of the rotation/back up).

Mid game: Mid game is when one tier 3 middle tower (the furthest) has been taken down. You need to equal the amount of farm and kills by roaming/farming jungle, creeps that pushed high into your lane. There’s nothing much to say about this time because pos2 should fight a lot to create space for pos1.

Late game: Mostly midlaners pick int heroes so they are very soft. Try to positioning yourself behind your team at a safe place, cover your team with your skills and nuke any enemy that try to push into your line. When pushing highground be careful don’t hit the tower but stay back and hold (An Enigma with Black Hole is the most dangerous Engima, not the one that has used).

*Pos3 (usually offlane): Don’t pick farm hero, pick tanky heroes and heroes that have stuns to initiate and open combat. If you see your pos1 farming, leave him and try to make space. Offlane usually be the first one who join a combat with his Blink/Stun. Don’t be scared.

Early game: Offlane means hard lane, try to harass enemy hard carry as much as possible while trying to survive. Sometimes when your team goes trilane, you have to live because enemy duolane can kill you at anytime. If you feel rough, go jungling. When you are lv 6 you can call for a gank or TP to roam and help teammates to win a small team fight with your ulti.

Mid game: Your job is to stick near your line (Mid and two supports) and join them whenever combat happens. Offlaner doesn’t need as much item as carry but you can change a teamfight with your stuns and ulti (such as Tide, Mars, Centaur...). Call your team to back when your important skills are not ready (Ravage, Black Hole).

Late game: Pos3 usually be in front of the line, baiting enemies and tanking the damage to create the chance for you mid/carry to fight. At this time your ulti is very important so choose a moment to use it wisely.

*Pos4: Pos4 is a support but you require items to be useful in a team fight (not like hard support). Pos4 can ask to farm to get important items such as Blink also tell your pos5 to do the warding in that time. Playing as a support means you have to watch the map, look at enemy’s rotation and TP back up whenever you can.

Early game: You can choose to duolane with offlaner or trilane safe lane. Pos4 usually roams around the map not staying at lane to get shared exp. At 3 mins when you should be level 3, call someone to roam mid with you (or you can do it alone if you are sure).

Mid lane: Bring dust, smoke for a gank. Buy items that are helpful for all team not for yourself (vlad, solar crest, heaven’s halberd, mekh, AC,....). You are the one who follow offlaner to open combat and chain-stun enemy, also the lastest one who leaves combat (well before pos5). As a support, you can die but your carry must be alive.

Late game: There’s not much you can do because it’s all carry’s job now, you can only provide help with stuns/visions/healing.

*Pos5: The easiest but also hardest role: Hard support. Hard support mean you won’t have any resources at all, you have to give it all, sacrifice for your team.

Early game: Stay with carry (pos1), harass enemies and let your carry farm, pull/stack neutral creeps. Try not to leave your carry alone, you can die but he can’t.

Mid game: Stick near your team to join fight whenever it happens or setup for a gank, don’t farm, it’s not your job, also do the warding. Your core items must have glimmer cape and force staff to save cores. I remember how I ****ed up everytime when my supports rush blink, aghanim and such.

Late game: Like pos4, you couldn’t affect the teamfight much because you are too weak for this period. Make a cool save or a good stun and you fulfill your role.

+ It’s very important to tell your teammate that enemy has been missing from the map.

+ Try to communicate as much as possible but I think mostly your teammate won’t say anything xd.

+ Don’t be toxic or be toxic-ed, if you feel hurt by enemies or your teammates, just mute and play. Talking won’t help you play better or win the game.

+ New mechanical makes it easier to come back when killing enemy gives you massive amount of exp (You 5/0 in laning stage, free farm, lv 12 - Enemy PA lv 9, kill 3 of your teammates and now he’s lv 15) so be careful with every decision to combat. I see many of my teammates throw the game when they dive enemy’s base (especially in Turbo mode). As I have said above: Don’t dive too deep, don’t fight when your important skills are not ready/no hp/no mana or when they buyback, don’t fight when your cores are missing.

+ You can watch streams/tournaments to learn their tricks, their build, there is a reason why professional players do this and that (but you can’t use 8k strategy for a 2k mmr match). Professional players play with team that they have trained days by days, and you queue up with 4 strangers so don’t ask them to be like what you want, they just need to do their best then it’s OK.

- For CSGO:

+ Communicate is VERY IMPORTANT. Pro players only report enemy positions or what the strategy is, they don’t scream or laugh into the mic, spamming nonsense words, it’s very distracting. Don’t tell your teammate what to do if you died, be silence and let them hear the footsteps.

+ Learn how to spray, how to control your gun, control your movements (when to walk, when to run). I learnt all the spray by looking at professional players, also the prefire angle.

+ If you are silvers, you just need a good aim. Up to MG, nades are very important. A good setup change a round result. I like to watch nadeking because he knew almost all nade’s lineup in this game. You can also watch tournaments because it’s easier to remember. Smoke to block enemy’s vision, flash to entry, molotov/fire bomb to check angle also push enemy out from their position, HE to finish low hp enemies or deal a decent damage to one place.

+ Trying to think what will you do if you are your enemy, and counter them.

+ You can drop your pistol to fake sound, use nades to fake position (like threw some nades at A site and call your team to rush B).

+ Pistol round:

* As T I like to fake site for teammate, buy 2 flash, 1 smoke, tell your teammate to wait in another site and throw all the nades then come back to join them. At low ranks they usually rotate very fast and you can have an advantage of number (4v2, 5v2, 5v3) makes it easier to win.

* As CT: If you go B: Nade/flash, kit/smoke. Mid/connector: Kevlar. Your team should have at least 1 kit. There are some jump-check angle that you should learn.

+ Anti-eco round: You should have a head armor because you don’t want to buy M4 or AK and be killed by a Glock/USP/SMG. Can force buy if you lost pistol round, it’s all or nothing (also first few rounds are not really important).

+ Pros never fake: Sometimes when you have a kit, just defuse straight because your enemy will think you are faking. On another hand, you don’t have to show yourself and shoot enemy when you hear defuse sound, just make some noise buy shooting air or walls and CT will be scared.

+ Bomb spot: Try to plant the best position for your team (don’t plant where your teammates haven’t cleared the area, like plant short but there are enemies at short).

+ I play about >1 hour at Retake servers to warm up every time I want to play ranked. You should know all enemy’s position if you be careful and remember when you play retake (I like to knife whoever doesn’t check the angles).

+ Baiting won’t help you get better, as T all you need to do is tank or trade kills, so follow your teammate, it’s dead or alive. If you bait then choose a right time to sneak in, don’t get caught by enemies when they rotate or just a random check. Timing is very impotant.

I don’t have much to say because they are all in my blood, they have become my instinct. You should know that it’s all feeling, you feel that you have to do this and do that at the moment. My favorite quote is: 'Practice makes perfect'. You will get better if you learn and try.

I’ll tell you new recommendations when I remember them because I have a golden-fish brain. Good luck and have fun!

P/s 1: Good skins improve your skills.

P/s 2: My ID is 341538486 so you can add me and invite me to play whenever I have time. I’m expected to play with you guys.

Wish you all the best,

Rainy Days.
